Don't start tomorrow, Start today! (:

Hey everyone! So sorry for the delay but I'm back! So in my last post I talked about having goals and dreams and told you guys that in the next post I would let you know what my most important goal of the moment is and how I'm slowly but surely achieving it.
So my goal is...... To lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. And when I say "lose weight", I really mean get rid of it-because i don't plan on seeing it ever again.
I don't like or believe in the word "diet". I mean, really, if you're "dieting" now, does that mean you're going to be dieting for the rest of your life? Didn't think so. But if you make something called a lifestyle change NOW then it will not only help you now but also follow you for years to come.
Forget about all these diets telling you how many points you can have or what you can't eat for the first 2 weeks of your diet! Take control of your body and your future by making changes your own way and at your own pace. Start trading in your morning doughnut! You can't completely cut foods out of your life or you'll eventually just end up bingeing on those foods later. The only reason you should be cutting foods out of your life is if YOU choose to make an even more drastic lifestyle change such as organic or if medically necessary... gluten free. Those are two things that I will get into later as right now we're focusing on the basics.
Portion control, portion control, portion control. Probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to work on. Sometimes even though I feel SO full, I just keep eating because it just tastes so good. Can you relate? Cut back your portions and not only will your body be thanking you, but you'll be thanking yourself for not being so bloated at the end of a meal!
We all have that one friend that's a complete gym rat. They practically live at the gym or will make going to the gym seem like their job. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being loyal to the gym if your balancing cardio and weight training-I actually encourage it! Just know that if your eating habits don't change going to the gym is more useless than a cellphone without service. Now if you're not in shape (like me) and/or aren't a very active person then I certainly don't recommend hitting the gym hard on your first day. Just like with changing your eating habits, you have to start off slow and work yourself up.

I want to say one more thing before I end this today... Don't start tomorrow, start TODAY! Today I'm taking the pledge to do the 30-days of blogging challenge-which means everyday you can come check out my blog for a different topic/more advice/great tips related to healthy living and lifestyle changes. As I've grown I've done a lot of research and been taught so many things and I'm finally practicing what I preach so I'd like to pass along all of my knowledge to you all. If I can help change at least one person's outlook or even life, then I'll be one happy girl (:

If there's anything special you guys want me to talk about, LET ME KNOW in the comments!

xoxo
