Get to know Me! (Tag)

Hey guys!(: So in honor of Day 1 of my 30-Days of Blogging Challenge I figured another nice thing would be do to the ever popular "Get to know me" tag that so many people have done on their own blogs as well as in their YouTube videos. Here goes nothing! ;)

1. Are you named after anyone? For those that don't know, my name is Ariel(: I AM actually named after Ariel from the legendary Disney movie, "The Little Mermaid".
2. When was the last time you cried? I honestly can't remember, but if I had to guess I'd say about 3 weeks or so ago?
3. Do you have kids? No, but can't wait to have some someday!
4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Haha. I like to think so! It'd be pretty bad if I said no...
5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? More than I probably should… But I definitely know when to tone it down and be serious.
6. Will you ever bungee-jump? Something about jumping off a bridge leaving my life in the hands of some type of stretchy rope doesn't really settle well with me. I'd rather go sky diving. lol
7. What’s your favorite cereal? I wish I could remember the name! It's basically a gluten free & organic version of rice krispies. SO good!
8. What’s the first thing you notice about people? I'm an eye person. I will generally notice someone's eyes before anything else. Unless it's a girl wearing some killer heels (:
9. What is your eye colour? Blue. It's like looking into an ocean. And I'm a mermaid so that makes sense to me!
10. Scary movie or happy endings? I love both but there's nothing like a tear-jerking happy ending!
11. Favorite smells? Almond and or coconut scented things. The smell after a good rainfall, dryer sheets/clean linen and the smell of my grandmothers homemade spaghetti sauce simmering for hours around Christmas time… which reminds me that I also love the smell of peppermint.
12. Summer or winter? FALL<3 When it's just the right temperature.. Not too hot and not too cold… t-shirt and jeans or sweatshirt around a nighttime campfire - nothing better!
13. Computer or television? Computer. I love TV, but if there's nothing good on you're kind of shit outta luck =/ On the computer I can watch YouTube videos, blog, do research, facebook… ANYTHING!
14. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home? The furthest I've probably been from home is Florida? And I live in Massachusetts, so…not that far lol
15. Do you have any special talents? I danced for a long time when I was younger till I got sick - not so good anymore but it's still a passion of mine. I'm good at cooking.. But special talents? Uhhhh… lol Not sure.
16. Where were you born? Massachusetts, USA.. Forever a New Englander no matter where I reside.
17. What are your hobbies? I enjoy watching NCIS & Law & Order, shopping, traveling, visiting new places, hanging out with friends and family, texting, taking pictures, learning new things and I'm really beginning to LOVE blogging even though it's only my 3rd real post (:
18. Do you have any pets? I have a white long-haired Chihuahua named Snowflake and a black long-haired Chihuahua/Pomeranian Mix named Cara (but I call her peanut) (: Loves of my life!
19. Favorite movie? I have a laundry list long of favorite movies but to name a few… Fast & The Furious (all of them), The Hangover, The Heat, Titanic, The Saw series, ANY Adam Sandler movie - my god there's so many I can't even deal….
20. Do you have any siblings? Only child right here.
21. What do you want to be when you grow up? When people ask me this… I always just say that I want to be SUCCESSFUL! In business and personal life I wish for success. Because I haven't truly figured out what I want to be yet(other than a business owner), I just wish to be successful(:

I got these questions off http://lebeautygirl.com/2011/06/get-to-know-me-tag-21-questions.html - The website of a lovely girl named Ysis who does a lot of things Fashion/Beauty related. Check her out!

Don't start tomorrow, Start today! (:

Hey everyone! So sorry for the delay but I'm back! So in my last post I talked about having goals and dreams and told you guys that in the next post I would let you know what my most important goal of the moment is and how I'm slowly but surely achieving it.
So my goal is...... To lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. And when I say "lose weight", I really mean get rid of it-because i don't plan on seeing it ever again.
I don't like or believe in the word "diet". I mean, really, if you're "dieting" now, does that mean you're going to be dieting for the rest of your life? Didn't think so. But if you make something called a lifestyle change NOW then it will not only help you now but also follow you for years to come.
Forget about all these diets telling you how many points you can have or what you can't eat for the first 2 weeks of your diet! Take control of your body and your future by making changes your own way and at your own pace. Start trading in your morning doughnut! You can't completely cut foods out of your life or you'll eventually just end up bingeing on those foods later. The only reason you should be cutting foods out of your life is if YOU choose to make an even more drastic lifestyle change such as organic or if medically necessary... gluten free. Those are two things that I will get into later as right now we're focusing on the basics.
Portion control, portion control, portion control. Probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to work on. Sometimes even though I feel SO full, I just keep eating because it just tastes so good. Can you relate? Cut back your portions and not only will your body be thanking you, but you'll be thanking yourself for not being so bloated at the end of a meal!
We all have that one friend that's a complete gym rat. They practically live at the gym or will make going to the gym seem like their job. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being loyal to the gym if your balancing cardio and weight training-I actually encourage it! Just know that if your eating habits don't change going to the gym is more useless than a cellphone without service. Now if you're not in shape (like me) and/or aren't a very active person then I certainly don't recommend hitting the gym hard on your first day. Just like with changing your eating habits, you have to start off slow and work yourself up.

I want to say one more thing before I end this today... Don't start tomorrow, start TODAY! Today I'm taking the pledge to do the 30-days of blogging challenge-which means everyday you can come check out my blog for a different topic/more advice/great tips related to healthy living and lifestyle changes. As I've grown I've done a lot of research and been taught so many things and I'm finally practicing what I preach so I'd like to pass along all of my knowledge to you all. If I can help change at least one person's outlook or even life, then I'll be one happy girl (:

If there's anything special you guys want me to talk about, LET ME KNOW in the comments!

FIND THE LIGHT!

Hey you! Have you ever found yourself stuck in a rut? You feel  as though you're stuck in a dark underground tunnel with no light or exit in sight? I think everyone feels that way at sometime or another. The economy is tough right now; People are struggling with relationships, finances, health and diet, etc. Today I find myself sitting in bed most of the day with no motivation to clean this mess of a house, get ready or do anything remotely productive.

Its time to see the light! There's so much to live for... I haven't met one person that doesn't want to be successful, financially stable, the picture of health and fitness and living the "All American Dream". Take a few minutes (or hours) to really reflect in and think about what you want out of life. Write in a journal, make mental pictures, do whatever will help you realize what you want in life! Now time to INSPIRE :) If you're trying to do something like lose weight or find a job... Try to stick pictures and post-it notes all over your house to help you remember what you're working towards so you can keep your eye on the goal.

Next, have a support team! Family, friends, partners, co-workers, pen pals-ANYONE! If you really and truly don't have anyone that will support you, join some local or online support groups or discussion columns. Many times you can do these things anonymously and get help from people with similar goals-some even all over the world!

I have many goals and dreams in life and hope to achieve every single one of them. I want to know what some of YOUR goals that you're working towards are-Let me know in the comments! Come back tomorrow to find out what my most important goal of the moment is and how I'm slowly but surely achieving it!

I found the light... Will you?
